VBPBS Refugee Law Training 2011
In the wake of the recent M61 decision (Plaintiff M61/2010E v Commonwealth and Plaintiff M69/2010 v Commonwealth [2010] HCA 41), the request for pro bono assistance for asylum seekers has increased. In response, the Victorian Bar Pro Bono Scheme (VBPBS) invites barristers and lawyers to participate in this comprehensive training program in refugee law.
The training will run over three sessions :
Session 1: Refugee Law Essentials

Session 3: Advocacy Skills Training
Date: Tuesday 27 September 2024
Time: 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Venue: Court 6K Federal Court of Australia, 305 William Street, Melbourne

The training is free however registration is required by Tuesday 30 August 2011. REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. The training is at capacity. If you have any questions, or wish to cancel or change your registration, please email the VBPBS at vbpbs@pilch.org.au
Venues:
The venues are confirmed but subject to change if the number of participants exceeds capacity. We will advise participants of any changes by email.
CPD:
Participants are eligible to receive 1 CPD point per hour (up to a maximum of 5) in the fields of Substantive Law / Professional Skills.
