Resources on new laws for incorporated associations
A new legislative framework for incorporated associations in Victoria came into effect on 26 November 2012. The framework includes:
- a new act - the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012
- new regulations - the Associations Incorporation Reform Regulations 2012, and
- new model rules for incorporated associations.
PilchConnect has prepared a range of resources to assist incorporated associations to understand the new laws and transitional issues that may apply to them.
Transitional Guide
The Transitional Guide provides practical guidance on transitional issues for incorporated associations including:
- transitioning from the old financial reporting system to the new financial reporting system
- transitioning from "public officer" to "secretary", and
- transitioning from old to new model rules.

- new requirements for rules of incorporated associations
- steps incorporated associations need to take to make sure their rules meet new requirements, and

Model Rules and Model Rules Comparison Table
The Model Rules Comparison Table compares the old model rules with the new model rules. This table will assist associations to consider whether the new model rules will be suitable for their association. It can be accessed here.

Updated Secretary's Satchel - Guide for Secretaries of Incorporated Associations
PilchConnect's Guide for Public Officers has been updated and renamed as the Secretary's Satchel - Guide for Secretaries of Incorporated Associations.
