Law reform and advocacy
Campaign objective
To reduce red tape and improve the legal framework for community organisations.
Focus areas
PILCH’s campaign work is focussed on the need to:
- establish a 'one-stop shop' independent, national regulator;
- improve the regime for Victoria's non-profit incorporated associations, and
- modernise the definition of a charity and simplify related taxation concession categories.
We also keep watching briefs, and are able to comment on, law reform areas with significant impacts on the not-for-profit sector, such as occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity laws, corporations law, and fundraising regulation.
