Amalgamation or changing legal structure

 

New laws for Victorian incorporated associations came into effect on 26 November 2012. The resources in this section have been updated to reflect the new laws. Sometimes not-for-profit organisations might want to join together or merge. 

The information sheet below summarises some of the legal issues for a Victorian incorporated association to consider before deciding to amalgamate with another Victorian incorporated association under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic).
