Finding Acts or Regulations
There are several ways to search for Acts and Regulations:
By name
This is the easiest way to find legislation. Be careful to look at the most current version - legislation is often changed (amended) after it is passed, and the most up-to-date version is called the "consolidated" or "reprinted" version of the Act.
By number
This method is helpful if you want to look up an Act as it was originally passed. For example, a reference to 'Victorian Act No. 43 of 2007' means the 43rd Act made by the Victorian Parliament in the year 2007.
By subject
This method is useful if you do not know the exact title of the legislation or want to find out what legislation deals with a particular area of law.
