PILCH (the Public Interest Law Clearing House Vic Inc) is very excited and pleased to announce the appointment of Fiona McLeay as our new Executive Director.

Commencing 8 February, 2010, Fiona will bring her diverse and multi-faceted experience to the role. An innovator in the pro bono field throughout her legal career, Fiona practiced with DLA Phillips Fox and Clayton Utz, where she created and was appointed to the position of Pro Bono Coordinator as part of the firm's National Pro Bono Scheme in 2000. Fiona moved to World Vision in 2006 to serve as its first General Counsel. Since then, she has held wide ranging positions at World Vision, including having oversight of an advocacy program and a fundraising initiative.

Fiona's long association with PILCH, encompassing Board membership from 2000-2006 as well as being a current Board member for the Human Rights Law Resource Centre (HRLRC), means that she has a unique understanding of the values and objectives of the organisation and the key challenges ahead.

In the New Year and beyond, Fiona will be instrumental in leading PILCH toward its goals: facilitating access to justice and helping to contribute to a fairer, more resilient and compassionate community.
