Intellectual Property issues for Not-for-Profits

How can Not-for-Profit organisations protect their program names, logos, websites, publications and other materials? How does an organisation know if and when it has intellectual property rights to be protected? This seminar will provide an invaluable overview on the basics of intellectual property law, including copyright, trade marks, and confidential information; how to protect your trade marks and other intellectual property and ensure that you own them; remedies if your intellectual property is being infringed by others; licensing agreements and releases for the use of information; issues with hiring outside consultants and advertising agencies; and intellectual property issues raised by a Not-for-Profit’s website and other internet uses.

Nicole Reid, Lawyer (Minter Ellison)

Nicole Reid is a lawyer in the commercial intellectual property team at Minter Ellison.  She advises a range of both public and private sector organisations on a range of intellectual property issues, including licensing and collaboration arrangements. She is also one of the co-ordinators of Minter Ellison's PILCH homeless persons' legal clinic team.

Anna Ryan, Lawyer (Minter Ellison)

Anna Ryan is a lawyer in Minter Ellison's Intellectual Property team.  She has experience in a broad range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on litigious matters.  She regularly provides advice on issues such as brand protection, advertising and licensing arrangements.  Anna is also an active participant in Minter' Ellison's PILCH homeless persons' legal clinic team.
