Position Details

Position Title: PLT Student Placement - this is an unpaid position
Minimun Placement: 50 days
Hours: 9.00 - 5.30 (three or more days per week)
Location: Level 17, 461 Bourke St, Melbourne

Key Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Undertake and support legal inquiries, casework and referrals. 

Secondary:

  • Undertake legal research and analysis and provide input into law reform and advocacy activities. 

Selection Critera

Qualifications:

  • Current PLT enrolment

Key Criteria:

  • Committment to human rights, social justice and the community sector
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in a confident and respectful manner 

Knowledge, Skills and Attrributes:

  • Excellent legal research skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable, marginalised and disadvantaged clients
  • Initiative, focus and good judgement
  • A sense of fun
