62 years ago, the Canadian Aviation Industry's most over shadowing event occurred. It was Friday, Feb 20 1959 and the Prime Minister first announced the cancellation of the RCAF and A.V. Roe companies; Canada Avro Arrow program. By the end of the day the tally of job lost had grown to over 14,000 people. Many can sympathize with this event due to our lock downs in 2020-21 but in 1959, this cancellation of the world's greatest jet fighter created huge loss for Canadian aviation ingenuity.
