I'll contact them, verify their hours for that day and their willingness to support us, and post their info on the web. So far I've had contact with Capital Ale House, Padow's, Jo-Jo's famous pizza, Legend Brewery, 101 Crafthouse, Capitol Waffle Shop, Carytown Burgers & Fries (food truck) and Pupatella P...izza. Roanoke city: Today they have set a "public hearing" (it will be virtual, so its actually "fake-public") for Tuesday, January 19 at 7pm to "receive citizen comment with regard to restrictions on firearms in municipal buildings." If you want to speak out at the hearing, you need to preregister with the City Council Clerk's office. You can do that by calling them at 540 853 2541 or by emailing them. If you preregister, make sure they know you want to offer comments on the proposed gun ban in "municipal facilities" at the 7pm meeting on January 19.

Gun owners flooded BATFE with negative comments and the BATFE has decided to back down on getting input on proposed pistol-brace guidelines. That doesn't mean that those with such braces are home-free just yet. We'll have to see what BATFE does next. https://www.ammoland.com//atf-backs-down-on-proposed-pist/ Note that the BATFE has not said that purposefully putting a brace against your shoulder is OK. They said if it touches your shoulder while firing, that doesn't make it a stock. The idea being if you are firing the pistol with the brace against your cheek, for example, and during recoil the brace touches your shoulder inadvertently, that would not make the brace a stock. I now have a list of 45 potential locations for distribution of flags, signs, and magnets for Lobby Day (Jan. 18). We will be figuring out which stores to use based on their location and contacting those stores to confirm. For those wanting to pick up their Lobby Day items during the week before Lobby Day, you will be given the list of distribution points soon. We are also planning on having the items at most of the waypoints on Lobby Day, but probably not all of them. If we aren't going to have the items at the waypoint you plan on using, you can either decorate your vehicle using your own creativity, make a trip to one of the pre-Lobby Day distribution locations, or both for maximum effect.

This came up in discussion so.. Here it is again. Ed Judge Yates made two modifications to his injunction against enforcement of Universal Background Checks for those that are 18, 19, or 20 years old: ANY person 18 or older who is SELLING a handgun to an 18, 19, or 20 year old is ALSO EXEMPT from the Universal Background Check requirement. The original wording was not clear on that key point. VCDL requested that clarification... Only handgun purchases, and not long gun purchases, for 18, 19, or 20 year olds is exempt from the Universal Background Check requirement. The Commonwealth requested that change

There will be a Special Election on Tuesday, January 5, 2025 -- 10 days from today -- for two House of Delegates districts -- 02 (parts of Prince William and Stafford counties) and 90 (parts of the cities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach). URGENT: Before Lobby Day (January 18), VCDL is going to ship flags, magnets, and signs to certain businesses around the state. That allows gun owners to pick up those items locally in advance of Lobby Day to decorate their vehicles. Bob's Gun Store in Norfolk has already contacted us and said they could do distribution in their area. On my personal list to contact are: Green Top Sporting Goods and Colonial Shooting Academy in Richmond and Safeside Tactical in Roanoke and L...ynchburg. If you know of other locations that can distribute the flags, signs, and magnets, let me know. It doesn't necessarily have to be a gun store. It could be any kind of business where they can temporarily store some boxes of items and hand those items out. Important: the distribution locations will not be collecting any money, just distributing the items. (Details on the cost of the items and how you can pay for them online will be in a future alert.) Send an email to [email protected], in the subject line put "Distribution", and in the message give me the name and location of the business. VCDL is having Lobby Day 2021 Flyers (LDF) printed.... If you are able, and willing, to distribute these in quantity we could use your help.
