We wrapped up the season today with a 5 man limit of Trout and a few puppy drum. Beautiful weather and a great crew from eastern N.C. We had good fishing this week but I decided not to do daily reports since I wasn’t taking any more business for the season. It was a great year with very consistent fishing from beginning to end. Thanks to all my customers for making it a great year and fishing hard!

This morning my old buddy Chris Boyce was down with his father Dave and we had a perfect morning for Trout fishing. Chris got us started with a 22 inch fish right off the bat! After getting our limit we released a few more and decided to try for Drum. We struck out at our first spot but at our second spot we got a nice one on the spinnerbait and missed one more. I knew Chris would make me look good that man always gets them!

Rescheduled yesterday’s trips to today for better weather and it paid off. We had perfect weather and the fishing was pretty good too. We started off with a slow trout bite in the morning but we picked away at some nice fish until we had our limit. We didn’t have any luck with the drum but we tried a couple spots. This afternoon we started off with some fun kid action catching puffer fish. We tried for trout later and had a slow pick again but with some bigger fish up to 23.5 inches. We tried for Reds after picking away to our limit and got one nice one to end the day.

This morning we had fog and mist with more wind than forecasted. We picked at the Trout but the bite was much slower than it’s been lately. After scrapping out a nice catch of Trout we tried for Reds and caught 2 of of 3 hookups. This afternoon we had an even slower trout bite but the fish were really nice ones. After picking away at them we got 3 nice Drum to add to our catch. Fun day with some great people!

This morning we had good Trout fishing and the crew only wanted to keep a few for dinner. After putting 3 nice ones on ice we played catch and release the rest of the trip. After Trout fishing we tried for drum and we had really good action releasing nice Reds. This afternoon it was more of the same. Mostly c&r; but we boxed 3 for dinner again and released a bunch more trout and drum. Beautiful calm day on the water!
