The Walk for Justice is now in its sixth year and raises much needed funds for PILCH, a pillar of the Victorian legal community. As a facilitator for the provision of pro bono legal services, an advocate for public interest matters and a provider of legal information to the community, PILCH plays a vital role in advancing access to justice in Victoria.
The Melbourne Law School has supported the Walk for Justice for many years and has several close connections with PILCH. Associate Professor Gary Cazalet is currently on the PILCH Board, Senior Lecturer Paula O’Brien is a former Executive Director of PILCH and our Dean, Carolyn Evans, has been honoured as one of the Patrons of the 2013 Walk for Justice. Many students have acted as volunteers and since 2012 students have engaged with its work through the course 'Law and Social Change'.
This year members of faculty, students and other members of the Melbourne Law School community are uniting to support PILCH in its furthering of the public interest through the law.
