Falls affect us allwhether personally or someone we love or care about. Every second of every day an older adult falls. In 2015 alone, more than one in four older adults reported falling and more than 28,000 older adults died as a result of fallsthat’s 74 older adults every day. There are simple steps you can take to prevent falls and decrease falls risks. The State of Illinois now allows physical therapist to evaluate and treat patients who may benefit from such service w...ithout the need of a physician’s referral. We will report to and consult with your primary physician as needed. Some insurances may require that a physician approves such services. We offer a free balance screening to those who may feel unsteady or have experienced falls. Depending on the results of the screening, you may receive information on how to reduce your risk of falls, a more complete physical therapy evaluation may be recommended, or a referral to a physician or another specialist may be provided. Due to cold weather we will suspend Covid-19 testing at the Covid-19 trailer. Patients who require testing for surgical procedures can be tested in the Covid 19 testing room located inside the main entrance. ALL other patients can call 815-772-5511 between the hours of 8:00 - 5:00 Monday through Sunday before you leave your home. A healthcare provider will screen patients over the phone and make recommendations based upon the phone screening.
