The Public Interest Law Clearing House (Vic.) Inc. (PILCH) is currently seekinga highly-motivated professional to manage the Public Interest Law Scheme. The ideal candidate will have a committment to improving access to justice for marginalised and disadvantaged people as well as an excellent understanding of the legal profession and pro bono sector in Victoria. Excellent communication skills are a must as is solid post admission experience working as a barrister or solicitor.

PILCH is a leading Victorian organisation that is committed to furthering the public interest, improving access to justice and protecting human rights. PILCH's membership represents the diversity of the Victorian legal profession and includes private law firms, the Victorian Bar, corporate legal departments, community legal centres, university law faculties and others in related fields.
Public Interest Law Scheme’s primary function is to provide assistance to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer with matters that raise issues of public interest. The Public Interest Law Scheme also engages in law and policy reform and initiates innovative projects aimed at developing specialist pro bono services that will meet the needs of marginalised or disadvantaged sectors of our community. Current projects include an environmental law project, an indigenous law project and the establishment of a legal service to promote the welfare of animals.
