FebFast is a community education and awareness campaign that invites individuals to make ‘February Their Fast-Track to Feeling Good’ by sacrificing their alcohol intake for up to one month during February. After a hectic silly season, many PILCH staff embraced the idea of avoiding alcohol for a short period of time. The inspiration was strengthened with the additional notion that we could raise funds for a good cause.
PILCH is a strong supporter of endeavours to assist drug and alcohol rehabilitation and we invite sponsors to support Febfast with their campaign to raise funds which will be distributed to organisations that support young people struggling with substance use.
Participants, which include the majority of PILCH staff, will be avoiding Friday night drinks and acting as ‘designated driver’ throughout February while they give up the drink. Fellow participants include AFL football teams, Victoria Police and hundreds of individuals around Australia. Participants are however permitted to ‘purchase’ a leave pass for special events for the sum of $15, allowing them to drink for one day only per pass.
