After many years of dedicated service our city librarian, Carolyn Hemstreet, is retiring this September. Below is the job announcement for the position of Library Director. The Library Board of Trustees is now taking applications for the position. Instructions are at the end of the announcement. Announcement/Advertisement for Immediate Release Library Director... Hale County Library Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of Library Director responsible for day-to-day operations, policy and budget execution, personnel supervision, fundraising and grants management, and supervision of library programs and services. The Director must demonstrate a keen ability to work with library patrons, passion for reading and research, effective use of information technology, knowledge of or ability to learn library-specific procedures and professional skills. Degree and experience in Library Science desirable. Comparable credentials and experience such as working in a nonprofit organization or teaching will be considered. Start date: NLT Sept. 2021.
