There is a plethora of existing knowledge on building an aquaculture business, so we centralized that information in a single, searchable database of business-relevant support resources. We hope to make the existing support resources that Maine’s remarkable aquaculture community already provides even more accessible. Visit https://themaineaquaculturist.org/resources-database/ to find useful information that helps keep aquaculture businesses moving forward.

Commercial and recreational fisheries contribute billions of dollars in economic value and generate hundreds of thousands of jobs in our region. As the Gulf of Maine warms, communities that depend on these fisheries face increasing risks to their livelihoods. That’s why a collaborative research team, led by GMRI scientist Dr. Lisa Kerr and including scientists from GMRI, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and Rutgers University, will harness the power of modeling to address changes in fish distribution over time. Visit https://gmri.org/stories/modeling-future-fisheries/ to learn more! Many thanks to the project sponsor, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal and Ocean Climate Applications program.
