Phillip Rankin, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). When he first joined the CAL board in 2009, he quickly applied his accounting expertise by chairing the Board's Financial Sub-Committee. Three years later, in 2012, he accepted the role of overall Board Chairman. One of Mr. Rankin's main achievements as Chairman has been to significantly decrease the airline's debt, translating to more efficient fiscal ...operations. He also spearheaded the launch of a new Fleet Modernization Plan to replace the airline's aging fleet of Boeing 737-300's with brand new, fuel-efficient, Boeing 737-8's. The Fleet Modernization Plan cleared a path to Cayman Airways having the youngest jet fleet of any airline based in the region. In this video, he shares why the B737-8 aircraft was chosen, and why he's confident that they're the safest aircraft in the skies today.
